The purpose of this series of learning modules is to teach
graduate and undergraduate students in the health sciences those
basic concepts in geriatric care. For each discipline, information
is provided on relevant changes brought about by the normal
aging process, geriatric assessment, common problems encountered
among the elderly, and how to deal with these problems.
After using these modules, the student should be better able to identify
problems relevant to disciplines other than their own
and therefore to make appropriate referrals.
